MK2 Auto Gearbox Into a MK1

I have the unfortunate pleasure of needing a replacement gearbox after the oil cooler leaked and mixed the coolant and ATF together. What I wanted to know is if the tiptronic auto from a MkII will fit in my car?

 

If anyone has done this then could you also let me know how easy/difficult it was and any helpful hints oyu have

I'm not an expert, but the MkII AG4 gearbox shouldn't be much different to the MkI AG4 gearbox. However, the AG4 was only fitted to the MkII 2.3 Galaxy - the MkII 2.8 V6 Galaxy had the new AG5 gearbox which would probably be less straightforward to fit to a MkI.

Also, as yours is a 4x4 another point to consider is where is the rear driveshaft connected? It might be that the 4x4 AG4 gearbox is unique?
